  1. One More Door

From the recording Song of the Angels

Lyrics

"I've been down this road before, one too many times." In Christopher's song, "One More Door", Christopher asks us to explore the space between our willful intention and our desire to serve. Isn't it interesting that we find ourselves caught between our will and the will of grace? "Every failed attempt takes it's toll" to be sure, however every attempt gives us an opportunity to learn and grow until finally we harmonize with grace and the door opens effortlessly. Join us as we explore the relationship between effort and surrender. It is the relationship between the two that is the key that unlocks the door to your dreams.

One More Door

My second song in 3/4 time
Pathetic attempt to find a rhyme
Feeling this way I know is a crime
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord

I don’t care if anyone hears
Or finds this song so insincere
Soiled will drowns in tears
Oh my Lord, Oh my Lord

It’s not new to my Spirit or new to my mind
I’ve broken down two million times
Watched my dreams take to the skies
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road

It’s not new to my heart or new to my soul
Every failed attempt takes it’s toll
How will I knock on one more door
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road
I’ve been down this road before
One too many times
One too many times

So much inspiration’s been given to me
Hidden the means to set it free
Feels like a lesson in cruelty
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord

Not one stone I’ve left unturned
Or one bridge that I’ve let burn
A set of ears that should have heard
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord

It’s not new to my Spirit or new to my mind
I’ve broken down two million times
Watched my dreams take to the skies
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road

It’s not new to my heart or new to my soul
Every failed attempt takes it’s toll
How will I knock on one more door
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road
I’ve been down this road before
One too many times
One too many times

I know how I am
Predictabley sworn
Be on the phone by tomorrow morn
Trying to find a brand new door
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord

Even though mine are ripped at the seams
Only thing I believe in is following dreams
This very moment I’m hatching a scheme
Oh my Lord, oh my Lord

It’s not new to my Spirit or new to my mind
I may break down two million more times
Or watch my dreams take to the skies
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road

It’s not new to my heart or new to my soul
My next attempt may take it’s toll
But I’ll still knock on two million more doors
I’ve been down this road before
I’ve been down this road
I’ve been down this road before
One too many times
One too many times
One too many times

I’ve been down this road before
Here I go once more
